Longstanton has a very long tradition as a good amateur footballing side, within the Cambridgeshire Mens Football arena and had a top tier side for many years. Unfortunately during the late 1990’s this team, as with many in the local area, folded and senior football was lost in the village. A few people took up the mantle of creating a Colts set-up, to look at a way of providing football coaching to the local children and in 2003 the “Colts” club was re-formed. Initially with just 2 teams playing in the mini-league and offering training to Under 7’s & 8’s the club began its journey with 2 coaches and around 20 players.

Over the years the club has had annual growth and continues to welcome a new Under 6 age group every year. Currently the club offers football to over 200 children, from the ages of 5 to 17, along with providing football to adults on both Saturdays and Sundays. With this success we have actually been lucky enough to start up the senior side and add a Sunday senior side to this portfolio.

Our Under 17’s are regularly playing for the senior sides and we will look to continue this development pathway in to the forthcoming years.

The sole purpose of our club is to offer the opportunity for local players to come and enjoy the game of football, our goal is to develop players that one day can play for our 1st team and represent the village. Our philosophy is to provide chances for children and adults to play football, enjoy themselves and develop as footballers.

Training during the winter months takes place at local all-weather facilities, but all age groups play their home matches at the recreation ground on Saturday mornings, with the adult teams playing on Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings.
