A14 Road Closures week commencing 27th April 2020

PLEASE NOTE – ALL CLOSURES (UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE) WILL START AGAIN AT 9PM

Monday 27 April to Friday 1 May (five nights)

  • A1 southbound Brampton Hut exit slip
    Vehicles will be diverted to exit the A1(M) prior at Alconbury Jct 14 and use A1307 to A141 or continue south to Buckden roundabout and return on A1 northbound
Monday 27 to Thursday 30 (four nights)

  • M11 northbound Jct 13 to A14 westbound Swavesey Jct 24
    Vehicles will be diverted west onto A1303 to continue onto A428 westbound, B1040 northbound at Eltisley, A1198 northbound and either join the A14 at Jct 23 for through traffic or continue north to join A1307 for local traffic
  • A428 eastbound Madingley to A14 eastbound Milton Jct 33
    Motorway traffic will travel south on the M11, east on A505 and north on A11 to re-join the A14. Non motorway traffic will be diverted on local roads through Cambridge.
  • M11 Jct 14 exit slip
  • A14 westbound between Six Mile Bottom Jct 36 and Girton Jct 31
    Motorway traffic will travel south on the A11, west on the A505 and then north on the M11.  Non motorway traffic will diverted on local roads through Cambridge
  • B1050 Hattons Road northbound between Bar Hill junction gyratory and A1307 local road 
    Vehicles wishing to access Longstanton from the A14 will need to exit at Swavesey Jct 24 and use A1307 local road.  For travel from Bar Hill to Longstanton, vehicles will need to travel east on A14, exit to A1307 Huntingdon Road and return back west on the local road past Crematorium
  • Brampton Road B1514 between station car park and Edison Bell Way
    Vehicles on the Huntingdon town centre side will be diverted onto the ring road, Ermine Street B1044 to Spittals roundabout, A141 west to Brampton / Brampton Racecourse junction and into Brampton via B1514. Vehicles on the Brampton side of the closure will follow this diversion in reverse.

Monday 27 (one night)

  • A10 northbound from Milton Jct 33
    Vehicles will be diverted along Kings Hedges Road, B1049 Bridge Road, Impington Lane, Burgoynes Road, Milton Road and Butt Lane to access Milton

Tuesday 28 to Wednesday 29 (two nights)

  • A10 northbound from Milton junction and A10 southbound approach to Milton Jct 33
    Vehicles will be diverted via Butt Lane, Milton Road, Burgoynes Road, Impington Lane and B1049 Bridge Road to access Cambridge. Vehicles wishing to travel to Milton and A10 will follow this diversion in reverse

Friday 1 9pm to Monday 4 6am

  • A1307 local road between B1050 Hattons Road and Oakington roundabout
    Vehicles wishing to exit the A14 eastbound for Oakington and Dry Drayton will need to stay on the A14 and exit onto A1307 Huntingdon Road, to return west on the local road, past the Crematorium.  For travel from Bar Hill/Longstanton to Oakington/Dry Drayton, vehicles will need to use the A14 eastbound at Jct 25, exit onto A1307 Huntingdon Road prior to the M11 and return west on the A1307 past the Crematorium.  For travel from Oakington/Dry Drayton to Bar Hill/Longstanton, vehicles will need to travel on A1307 past the Crematorium and access A14 westbound at Girton Jct 31 to then exit the A14 at Jct 25.

Friday 1 May (one night)
  • Hinchingbrooke Park Road loop
Saturday 2 May (one night) 9pm – 8am
  • Brampton Road B1514 between station car park and Edison Bell Way
    Vehicles on the Huntingdon town centre side will be diverted onto the ring road, Ermine Street B1044 to Spittals roundabout, A141 west to Brampton / Brampton Racecourse junction and into Brampton via B1514. Vehicles on the Brampton side of the closure will follow this diversion in reverse.
Sunday 3 May (one night)
  • Brampton Road B1514 between station car park and Edison Bell Way
