Local Road now OPEN

Published: 14 April 2020

The A1307 new local access road between the Buckingway Business Park roundabout at Swavesey and the Bar Hill / B1050 Hattons Road junction will now be permanently open to all traffic from this evening Tuesday 14th April between 5pm and 6pm

The road is single carriageway in both directions with a speed limit of 40mph, and for the time being the cycleway / footpath along side it will remain closed.

This will mean that Lolworth village, Hill Farm and cottages, the Travelodge and Herbies Diner will be accessible from both directions, east and the west from the new local road.

Also residents of Swavesey, Boxworth, Fenstanton and surrounding villages to the west will be able to get to Bar Hill, Dry Drayton bridge and the A1307 Huntingdon Rd into Cambridge without having to use the A14.

At the same time as the local access road opening, the exits for Lolworth Village and Hill Farm and Cottages and into the Travelodge and Herbies Diner site from the A14 eastbound carriageway will be permanently removed, as per scheme design, to allow the completion of the works on the main carriageway.
