A14 Road Closures week commencing 16th March 2020

Full closures
Monday 16 to Friday 20 (five nights)

A1 northbound Alconbury exit slip
Non-motorway vehicles will need to exit the A1 at Brampton Hut, use the A141 eastbound and A1307 northbound at Spittals. Other vehicles will be diverted to exit at Sawtry and return on southbound carriageway
B1049 Bridge Road northbound and southbound at Histon Jct 32
Vehicles will be diverted via Kings Hedges Road, A10 to Milton Interchange, Butt Lane, Milton Road, Burgoynes Road and Impington Lane to access Histon & Impington. Diversion in reverse for access to Cambridge.

Monday 16 to Thursday 19 (four nights)

A14 westbound Swavesey Jct 24 to Godmanchester / A1198 Jct 23
Vehicles will be diverted west on A1307 and south on A1198 to re-join the A14.
M11 northbound Jct 13 to A14 westbound Bar Hill Jct 25
Vehicles will be diverted west onto A1303, A428 westbound and A1 northbound to re-join the A14 at Brampton Hut.
A428 eastbound Madingley to A14 eastbound Fen Ditton Jct 34
Motorway traffic will travel south on the M11, east on A505 and north on A11 to re-join the A14. Non motorway traffic will be diverted on local roads through Cambridge.

A14 westbound between Six Mile Bottom Jct 36 and Girton Jct 31
Motorway traffic will travel south on the A11, west on the A505 and then north on the M11. Non motorway traffic will diverted on local roads through Cambridge

Monday 16 to Tuesday 17 (two nights)

B1050 Hattons Road between local road and Longstanton roundabout
Vehicles will be diverted via local road, Oakington, Cottenham, Rampton and Willingham

Monday 16 (one night)

A1 southbound Brampton Hut entry slip
Vehicles will be diverted east on A141 to Spittals and A1307 north to Alconbury and return on the southbound carriageway

Wednesday 18 to Thursday 19 (two nights)

Local road between B1050 Hattons Road and Oakington roundabout
Vehicles leaving Cambridge wishing to access Bar Hill and Longstanton will be diverted onto A1303 to continue onto A428 westbound, A1198 northbound to A1307 and continue east to Bar Hill Jct 25. Oakington and Dry Drayton residents can use A1307 Huntingdon Road and local road. Vehicles wishing to exit the A14 eastbound for Oakington and Dry Drayton will need to stay on the A14 and exit onto A1307 Huntingdon Road, to return west on the local road, past the Crematorium

Friday 20 9pm to Monday 23 5am

M11 northbound Jct 13 to A14 westbound Swavesey Jct 24
*Friday night* Vehicles will be diverted west onto A1303, A428 westbound and A1 northbound to re-join the A14 at Brampton Hut.
*Saturday AM – Monday AM* Vehicles will be diverted west onto A1303 to continue onto A428 westbound, A1198 northbound and either join the A14 at Jct 23 for through traffic or continue north to join A1307 for local traffic.

Vehicles will be diverted to Histon Jct 32 and via Histon Road to access Cambridge
A1307 Huntingdon Road outbound
Vehicles will be diverted onto Histon Road to Histon Jct 32 for access to A14 westbound
A14 eastbound Milton Jct 33 exit slip
Vehicles will be diverted to continue east on A14 to Stow cum Quy Jct 35 and return on westbound carriageway. Vehicles will be diverted via the exit slip and re-join the A14 via the entry slip

Saturday 21 (one night) 9pm – 8am

Brampton Road B1514 between station car park and Edison Bell Way
Vehicles on the Huntingdon town centre side will be diverted onto the ring road, Ermine Street B1044 to Spittals roundabout, A141 west to Brampton / Brampton Racecourse junction and into Brampton via B1514. Vehicles on the Brampton side of the closure will follow this diversion in reverse.
