Stronger for Longer

Published: 30 May 2019

The successful Stronger for Longer campaign, which launched in October 2018, was designed to encourage older adults 65+ years to take up strength and balance exercises twice a week to reduce their risk of falling and keep them doing the things they enjoy. The campaign signposted people to local classes, provided exercises to do at home as well as motivational information and advice on the Be Well website – www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/strongerforlonger. It was developed by Cambridgeshire County Council and CPFT with support from District Councils, Living Sport, and Forever Active.

Since the launch of the campaign back in October, over 100 new people have joined strength and balance classes around the county and are now stronger and steadier. Over 2,300 people have also downloaded our Super Six leaflets, which is helping people to do strength and balance exercises at home at least twice a week.
