Starting School?

Published: 31 July 2018

Starting school can be a very anxious time for parents and children alike. NHS choices can offer help and advice on how to prepare little ones for their first day. For further advice and information visit https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/starting-school/ or https://www.pacey.org.uk/working-in-childcare/spotlight-on/being-school-ready/

Flu Vaccinations will be arriving towards the end of September and we will be running special flu clinics. Please ring for details from mid-September

Telephone numbers
Please ensure the surgery has your most up to date contact telephone number. If we have your mobile number, we can send SMS reminders and appointment confirmations to your mobile phone.

X-rays and Test Results
We would like to remind patients that you need to contact the surgery in order to find out any test results including blood tests, urine, X-rays and Ultrasounds. Unfortunately, we do not have capacity to contact patients with their results, even if there is an abnormality. Please contact our receptionists after 11am for your results, and they can pass on any comments and advice from the GP.

Carers Support Meetings
Our next meetings at Willingham Surgery are on Weds 5th September, Weds 3rd October & Weds 7th November . If you are a carer, please pop along and get some support from other people in the local community. Refreshments provided, no need to pre-book and completely FREE! Please contact Sue Lawson at the surgery or email her at susan.lawson7@nhs.net for more information.

Cambridgeshire Hearing Clinics
The next Hearing Aid Clinics at Willingham Surgery are 19th September, 17th October & 21st November. No appointment necessary, just pop along for your free NHS hearing aid batteries and for help and advice regarding hearing loss.

Acknowledgements
We would like to extend out grateful thanks to the families and friends of Pru Housden for their generous donation to Longstanton Branch Surgery in memory of their loved one who passed away recently.

We would also like to thank the friends and family of Lillian Bonus, for their kind and generous donations in celebration of her 100th Birthday. We congratulate Mrs Bonus on this truly remarkable and inspirational achievement.

We feel very lucky to have such supportive patients, and have received a number of generous donations, for which we are always grateful.

A&E is not an alternative to a GP appointment. If we are closed, please call 111, who will give advice and direct you to the most suitable local service.
