Over 60s Spring Meal – can your children help?

Published: 27 January 2021

In normal times a group of Longstanton residents, led by Margaret, provide a Christmas lunch for residents over the age of 60. Covid put paid to that in 2020. But not to be out done by the virus, they have (with help from Longstanton Parish Council and Little Piggy Catering) organised for a meal to be delivered to residents’ homes in February instead.

After hearing about community and volunteering at a recent meeting, Beavers from Northstowe Beavers have kindly written some letters with a picture, which will be delivered to residents with their meal.  However, there is only a small number of Beavers and we would really like it if we were able to provide all residents with a letter.  There are just over 50 residents receiving a meal.

If you know of a young person who could spare a few minutes to write a little letter with perhaps a picture which could brighten up the day of a resident who may be living alone, not able to leave their homes and may be lonely, we would love to hear from you.

Any donations of letters/pictures can be put through the letterbox at the village hall on the High Street by Monday 15th February 2021.
