HRH Queen Elizabeth II

The Parish Council would like to express our deepest sympathy to His Majesty The King, the Queen Consort and all members of the Royal Family on the death of Her Majesty The Queen announced this afternoon.

The loss will be felt country-wide, throughout the Commonwealth, and around the world.
We thank her for her many years of dedication and service to our country.

Cllr Dan delaMare-Lyon
Chairman, Longstanton Parish Council

Book of Condolence

A book of condolence has been placed in All Saints Church allowing residents to record their sentiments* following the death of such a prominent figure.

We can also include your sentiments by email which can be added to the book of condolence. Please email clerk@longstanton-pc.gov.uk or use the contact page of the website with the subject 'HRH The Queen Condolences'.

At 1700 hours on the day following the funeral we will collate all comments received and create a formally bound Book of Condolence which will form part of the Parish Council's archive. We will send a letter to Buckingham Palace confirming its existence and the letter will in turn form part of the Royal Archives acting as a cross reference.

* any pages which contain comments which are deemed questionable, shall be quietly removed until such time that a decision can be made whether they should be permanently excluded.

Flowers

If you would like to leave flowers you are welcome to do so at Village Sign at The Dale, opposite the Village Institute. Please ensure any plastic wrappings are removed before laying them.

Please note all flowers will be removed the day after the funeral in accordance with protocol.
