We are arranging a Book of Condolence following the death of HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh allowing residents to record their sentiments* following the death of such a prominent figure.
To record your sentiments please email clerk@longstanton-pc.gov.uk or use the contact page of the website with the subject 'HRH Prince Philip Condolences'. If you know of anyone who does not have access to the Internet, and they wish to supply their comments, please ask them to write the comments on paper and drop off at the Village Hall. We will ensure that these comments are included too.
At 1700 hours on the day following the funeral we will collate all comments received and create a formally bound Book of Condolence which will form part of the Parish Council's archive. We will send a letter to Buckingham Palace confirming its existence and the letter will in turn form part of the Royal Archives acting as a cross reference.
* any pages which contain comments which are deemed questionable, shall be quietly removed until such time that a decision can be made whether they should be permanently excluded.
